Rapha Mallorca “Day in Hell” – Gravel, Grit & Classics Spirit 🔥🚴♂️
As the classics season reaches its peak, Rapha Mallorca brings the spirit of the cobbled monuments to the island with its legendary “Day in Hell” ride. Inspired by the intensity of races like Paris–Roubaix, this event blends endurance, gravel, and pure cycling passion into one unforgettable day.
Taking place on Sunday, April 12th, the ride starts from the Rapha clubhouse in Palma and heads out on a demanding gravel route across Mallorca. It’s a challenge designed to test both legs and mindset — all while riding through some of the island’s most rugged and scenic terrain.
📍 Ride Details
- Meeting time: 08:45
- Start/Finish: Rapha Mallorca clubhouse
- Estimated return: around 14:00
🚴 What to Expect
The “Day in Hell” is all about effort, endurance, and group spirit. The pace is adapted to the group rather than individuals, typically settling around:
- 25–28 km/h on flat terrain
- 23–25 km/h in the mountains
Climbs are ridden at individual pace, with regrouping at the top 🔄. On rolling terrain, the group comes back together at the planned coffee stop ☕
Along the way, there may be short refueling stops at local gas stations or supermarkets to keep energy levels up ⛽
Before the ride, RCC members can enjoy a complimentary coffee, adding a small moment of comfort before the challenge begins.
🪨 A Ride with a Purpose
The goal is simple: push your limits and embrace the “hell” — then return just in time to watch the finale of Paris–Roubaix, cycling’s most iconic and brutal race.
🛡️ Good to Know
RCC members are insured during official Rapha Mallorca rides, and the event itself is open to all riders who feel ready to take on the challenge.
🌴 Mallorca Meets the Hell of the North
Combining gravel roads, long efforts, and the atmosphere of classics season, the “Day in Hell” stands out as one of the more unique and demanding group rides on the island.
For those ready to suffer a little and smile at the finish, this is as close as it gets to experiencing the spirit of the Hell of the North — Mallorca style 🚴♀️🔥
